Just a short summary of what site 2 camp is to allow readers to better understand some comments associated with the pictures.

Site 2 camp is located near Aranya Prathet, Thalaind, north-west of Cambodian border. It was built in 1985 (84?) to receive Cambodian Refugees from different Cambodian camps (Ampil, Dangrek, Rithysen, Nong Chan, ...), who fled the fightings between the Vietnamese Occupation Army and Khmer Resistant forces on Cambodian-Thai border. For this reason, Site 2 is separated into different sectors called Ampil, Dangrek, ...

The camp received upto 145 000 people in its small size (1 km2?). It was sourrounded barbed wire and was guarded day and night by Thai military forces who had almost all rights on us (...). People had no right to stay outside of their huts after 8/9 PM (at least at the begining) and had no right to go out of the camp; they could be gunned down.

Foreign workers, like Fr. Vincent, stay outside of the camp in Tapraya, Aran, .... They are allowed to come to the camp in the morning and have to leave in the evning. No foreigners are authorized to stay the night in the camp.

In the day, there is a 4-level alert rule for foreign workers:

Alert 1: Be careful! The camp is going to be bombed by the Vietnamese Army. Stay near the hospitals.

Alert 2: All non-medical personals have to leave the camp

Alert 3: Everybody (doctors and nurses included), except the Cambodians of course, has to leave the camp.

Alert 4: the camp is under the bombs! Stay where you are, in the bunkers.
